Tekkno Tour 2023
Special Guest: Holding Absence | Support: Future Palace
"Electric Callboy – Update on upcoming shows!
While we are extremely grateful for all the feedback we get for our new album Tekkno, we have some very sad news today.
Nico has been suffering from a very severe jaw and middle ear infection for quite some time now. He has tried to get better between our shows and rehearsals, but it’s not working. The infection is coming back again and again. That’s why we already had to cancel the Blue Ridge Rock Fest two weeks ago.
Unfortunately, our hopes for a swift recovery were not fulfilled, and we have no option but to move our shows in England, France, and the US to new dates. We checked with every doctor we know, but they all say the same: no shows and especially no flying for Nico at the moment. Otherwise, he would risk permanent damage to his ear. That is a risk we definitely won’t take. We need Nico, and Nico needs his ears. And his ears need some time off.
There is not much we can do about that. We are super sorry and hope that you can support our decision. We were very excited to play those gigs and already put a lot effort in preparing them.
For the shows in England and France we will have new dates soon, meaning that the tickets stay valid. For the almost completely sold-out „THE LEVEL UP“ Tour we had planned in the US, we have to cancel our participation and come up with new dates next year. Support the other bands on this tour and party with them!
Believe us: We can’t wait to cross the Atlantic and come back next year. That’s a promise."
ESKIMO CALLBOY CANCELS ALL APPEARANCES IN RUSSIA AND ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE TO ELECTRIC CALLBOY
In their latest video statement, ESKIMO CALLBOY officially announces the change of their band name. From now on, the well-known band will be called ELECTRIC CALLBOY. In addition, all gigs in Russia have been canceled until further notice.
The band stated: "Like any clear-thinking person, we are appalled by the invasion of Ukraine by Putin and his henchmen and the situation there. We can only hope there will be a quick end to the fighting. Our thoughts are with all Ukrainians who have woken up in another world without any fault of their own. But we also think of all the people in Russia who are taking to the streets or silently protesting for peace. Music, fun and celebration, all the things we love to do, become tiny with all this."
Against this backdrop, the announcement of the new name also turns out to be different than planned. "Before we all woke up in another world, we talked to quite a bunch of people in the last few weeks to better decide for ourselves what is the right way to handle the name issue. The result is simple: we will change our name because we don't want to hurt or exclude anyone with our name, and we definitely don't want to promote century-old stereotypes. We will always remain what you and all of us associate with Eskimo Callboy, but will immediately be called Electric Callboy. In German words: Aus Raider wird jetzt Twix, ansonsten ändert sich nix.“
The band had planned to announce the new name with a big video and the usual wink. But there are currently significantly more important matters than "some stupid name", the band emphasized. "That's why we'll leave it at that for now. We'll definitely catch up, but there's no room for it today. Let's all use our energy to work for peace and solidarity. Since we've been in the world, that's never been more important than now."
