The Riptide Movement
Ireland’s finest purveyors of Rock n’ Roll, The Riptide Movement celebrate the upcoming 2017 release of their highly anticipated forthcoming studio album “Ghosts” with a tour of Germany in February.
Speaking of the upcoming album release, Mal Tuohy - front-man of the band explains,
“It has taken the best part of eighteen months to write and record ‘Ghosts’, a journey that began somewhere between the Caragh river and the Seefin mountains of Gleinbeigh and came to completion in Tornillo, Texas, thirty miles East of the Rio Grande, under the guidance of Grammy award winning producer Ted Hutt.
We feel it’s our greatest offering to date and we're so excited to finally get it out to the world.
Having blown the Irish music scene wide open in 2014 with their Number One, gold-selling album ‘Getting Through’, a string of Top 10 singles and various sold-out headline tours, the four piece – comprising Malachy Tuohy (vocals, piano and guitar), John Dalton (guitar), Gerry McGarry (bass & harmonica) and Gar Byrne (drums & percussion) – have also announced a series of headline shows in Germany to mark the announcement of the German release of their new album in 2017.
"It’s been an amazing two years since we released our third studio album 'Getting through' with so many highs to recall - from our first # 1 Gold selling album, to touring the UK, Europe and Australia - it has really been an incredible journey for us', says Mal.
