Czech singer Lenny ́s debut album Hearts released in September 2016 became a sensation within hours. Great media reviews and universal acclaim, exceptional sales of both digital downloads and CDs and the top position in the national IFPI sales chart followed.
Lenny was born on September 25th, 1993 and her name is Lenka Filipová. She inherited it from her mother, a popular Czech singer who has been known as both top pop and chanson singer and an extraordinary guitar player.
She started playing piano at the age of four. She wrote her first song at eleven and five years later she performed with a band. She also accompanied her mother at concerts and gained experience at numerous performances abroad, namely on tour in Australia, Canada, Europe and Asia.
Her song You’re My Everything was one of the few nominated for the semifinal of the International Songwriting Competition in the US.
She first caught the attention of media and music professionals in 2013 at Universal Music showcase which presented their new talents and stars. All My Love EP was released soon after that and Lenny left for Great Britain to study composition at the British & Irish Modern Music Institute in London.
In December 2013 Lenny released her second EP Fighter. Since this release, Lenny has received multiple nominations and awards; most importantly she was awarded with the Breakthrough Artist Award at the Czech Grammy “ANDĚL“ awards.
Her newest album Hearts is described as her most authentic. Lenny admits that she didn ́t want to rush it: “I wanted to write songs about things that had happened to me and about what I really feel and am willing to express. I wanted to create songs that would inspire people and make them play the record over and over again. I feel that way myself.
Lenny is a one-of-a-kind live performer. She regularly entertains audiences at some of the biggest and most acclaimed venues and festivals in the Czech republic and Great Britain.
